We used TimeClock Plus at Roam to track our part-timers (non-salaried) employees. We found that this particular software was a bit more than what we needed for such a small team but it worked for us. I can see how for a bigger organization you might need this software to be effective.
  • Tracks the time of employees.
  • Keeps all requests in one spot (birthdays, PTO, holidays, etc.)
  • Have a very robust dashboard that is clean and clear.
  • Sometimes too many features for a small team.
  • The pricing structure is bit much for a small org.
  • Create a better app experience for employees to clock in/out on their phone or POS system.
I think the best place for TimeClock Plus to work would be at a restaurant or a busy business that has a lot of people to track and needs a robust dashboard to keep things in order. For my organization, we only have around 10 people max per location and it was a bit too expensive and complex for our needs. We could use a simpler system.
  • Clock-in and clock-out
  • Keep all our preferred holidays, pro requests, birthdays, etc. in one place
  • We liked the reminder feature as it helped us stay on track with some particular meetings
  • Positive: The ease of not manually tracking clocking in and out.
  • Negative: Expensive and too robust of a software for a small team.
  • Negative: The app is dated and needs an update and can be slow.
We have used Rippling as an employee management software that essentially has a cleaner and smaller scale clock-in and clock-out feature that was easier to use for our team. I think the TimeClock Plus beats out Rippling when you have a bigger team that needs to constantly clock-in and clock-out but for our needs, Rippling was perfect and allowed us to pay them all in the same software.

We use TimeClock Plus for all non-salaried employees in our company. We also use it to verify time for the few times when we have people working for us from temporary agencies. It addresses the problem of having a unique way of identifying the employee. We used to have them hand scan for clocking in and out. Now we use badges which identify the employee and their employee ID number.
  • Employees' time goes straight to the database we use. No having to manually enter time.
  • No one can clock anyone else in or out at the time clock. We love that security feature.
  • It exports easily into the payroll system we are using.
  • Would be nice to see at end of day hours currently worked. Instead you have to do this using another function.
  • Should be simpler way of putting employee's schedule in time clock rather than copying and pasting week after week, month after month.
  • Should be a way to archive old employees.
TimeClock Plus is very user friendly. With a little training, it is easy to master. It is great for keeping accurate time keeping. You can also accrue employee vacation and sick time here if needed. I believe it would be an asset to any size company. I consider the uniqueness of each employee having to clock in and out for themselves is a necessity for any company in keeping accurate records.
  • Changing from hand scanning to using badges has cut down on employees unable to clock in and out properly.
  • Records are more accurate. There has been less need for entering employees' time manually.
  • More efficient all around.
TimeClock Plus works hand in hand with ADP in keeping our time records correct. We export from our TimeClock Pus into ADP without any problems at all.
I have no experience with support for TimeClock Plus. Have had no need of support, which I think is a very good thing.

When I started at my current role the entire company was utilizing TimeClock Plus, including salaried team members. Primarily the company was using it for accountability and to keep track of the amount of hours our employees were working and utilize this information for resourcing purposes. This definitely made sense for our hourly team members.
  • We were able to have it on team members' personal desktop or accessible on a tablet in the office.
  • Easy to clock in and out.
  • Had reports that could be pulled for payroll.
  • The system would go down periodically and we would have to correct everyones' time.
  • Reporting was not intuitive.
  • The system was archaic at the time that we were using it. I know that they've done updates since then, however.
This is well suited for a company that does not have a time keeping feature within their HRIS system and/or has hourly employees that need hours kept track of. We moved to a new HRIS system that provided an internal time tracking feature and no longer needed to use TimeClock Plus.
  • At the time that we needed it, the system did what it promised, it kept track of team members' time.
  • We were able to pull reports to see hours worked for payroll.
  • It could be easily used by the staff.
  • Namely
We switched to Namely for our HRIS system and they had a time tracking solution integrated within their software which made us no longer need to utilize TimeClock Plus. Namely's time tracking also flowed seamlessly into our payroll which made the process much simpler and easier to use. The reporting is also much easier to utilize.

We use TimeClock Plus to track employee time and attendance through the entire organization by implementing a time clock on every user's desktop computer. Employees clock in and clock out by double clicking the icon, entering their id number, and clicking on the corresponding action. Our accounting department used to have to rely on hand-written time sheets to track employee hours.
  • Deployment via GPO makes installation a breeze
  • They have an excellent Technical Support team in the rare event of things not working as expected
  • It works within your web browser, making zero impact on your system resources
  • Their physical time clocks are quite expensive.
  • Setting up the smartphone app is a bit clunky.
  • Company branding would be a nice feature to have.
TimeClock Plus is well suited for small, medium, and large companies. The web interface is easy to use and very self-explanatory, even for novice computer users. Employees are able to view their hours, their last time punch, request time off, and view messages from HR within the browser shortcut. I haven't found any scenarios where it would be inappropriate to use.
  • Payroll processing is more efficient.
  • Employees are more accountable for their time worked.
  • Wasp time
We chose TimeClock Plus for the lower initial investment. Licensing for Wasp was more costly, and we didn't have to purchase physical time clocks like we would have with Wasp time and avoided running network cable to support the new infrastructure. The TimeClock Plus console had a better look and feel than the Wasp Time software.
